In order to balance donor intent and Emerge’s community-centric philanthropic vision, your in-kind donations first and foremost go to the participants (adults and children) in Emerge programs who have basic, urgent, and/or ongoing needs for these items. After distributing these items, we stock Emerge’s in-kind supply room to ensure an adequate inventory for our participants year after year. When we determine that we have overflow items that cannot be stored nor can be

     used, we often distribute those donations to our community partners (i.e., other charitable organizations). We want to ensure that the donations we receive are still used for individuals in our community who may be struggling to meet their or their children’s basic needs. We believe that if we have items that Emerge participants will not use, we have a commitment to our community to share our resources..
